School leaders extend Spring Festival greetings to students, faculty, and staff members

Peking University, February 9, 2024: Ahead of the Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on Feb. 10 this year, leaders of Peking University (PKU), including Council Chair Hao Ping and President Gong Qihuang, visited staff members, faculty, and students who stayed on campus.

From Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, Hao Ping toured facilities including the Student Center, the new campus in Changping District, labs, and affiliated hospitals, during which he extended New Year’s greetings, checked on operations, and expressed appreciation to those working over the holiday.

On Feb. 7, President Gong Qihuang visited retired faculty members and hospital staff. He checked in on their wellbeing and thanked them for their service. Gong also visited labs, canteens, and facilities and met with international students who chose to celebrate and experience the upcoming Chinese New Year on campus.

During their visits, the University leadership extended their support and gratitude to those who are stationed in their posts and sacrifice time to keep the University functioning smoothly during the holiday.
