Peking University, February 26, 2024: Recently, a delegation led by Xie Yongqiang, chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Macau Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT), and Lin Cantang, the acting dean of the School of Applied Sciences at Macau Polytechnic University (MPU), visited Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC). Academician Qiao Jie, executive vice president of PKU and president of PKUHSC, met with the delegation.

In her remarks, Qiao stated that the “Nursing Academy” jointly established by PKUHSC and MPU is progressing smoothly and has achieved fruitful results. Based on the initiative, the “PKUHSC - MPU Joint AI Health Lab” was set up to expand cooperation. PKUHSC is willing to continue working hand in hand with MPU and other Macau universities to jointly contribute to enhancing the well-being of Macau compatriots, promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the development of Macau's health industry, Qiao added.

In the meeting, Xie expressed his appreciation to PKUHSC for its warm reception and made a brief review of FDCT, focusing on its development objectives and the important role FDCT plays in technological innovation and industrial development in Macau.

The “PKUHSC - MPU Nursing Academy” was jointly established by PKUHSC and MPU on June 8, 2021. In the past three years, the Academy has seen a continuous increase in enrollment, with 303 students studying in the program currently. With the adoption of the “3-year Macau+1-year Beijing” nursing talent training model, the first batch of Nursing Academy students are set to study and live at PKUHSC from March 1 to October 31, 2024.
