Qiao Jie Entitled “Cheung Kong Scholar“ Chair Professor

Peking University, Beijing, Jun. 3, 2010: Ms. Qiao Jie, Director of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department and Reproductive Medicine Center of Peking University Third Hospital, has been entitled "Cheung Kong Scholar" Chair Professor of 2009 and signed employment contract with Peking University.


"Cheung Kong Scholars Program" is a special program co-established by Ministry of Education and Mr. Li Ka-shing. The program aims at promoting academic status of Chinese universities and colleges, and vitalizing higher education in China. This program includes Cheung Kong Scholar Achievement Award and Chair Professor System. The latter one is to invite young and middle-aged scholars in various academic fields to participate in the construction of pivotal subjects, leading these subjects to surpass or maintain international advanced level and training academic leaders.


Ms. Qiao Jie is mainly engaged in the field of female reproductive endocrinology. She has done in-depth studies in mechanism of female fertility decline and its control strategies, follicle mechanism, freezing of follicles, oocytes and ovarian tissues and reproductive resource conservation. She published related research findings in 150 articles, 40 of which were published in SCI and 20 of which were published with her as the first author. What’s more, she has been awarded a number of national level prizes and has taught nearly 50 master and PhD students, 10 subject leaders and around 400 professionals in medical reproductive endocrinology.
