Peking University, November 28, 2017: Professor Qiao Jie, from Peking University Third Hospital, was elected as new member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) on November 27, 2017.
CAE membership is China's highest title in the field of engineering and a lifelong honor. New members are recruited every two years. This year, of 533 candidates, 67 Chinese scientists were elected to the academy: 49 from universities and research institutes and 18 from businesses and hospitals.
Qiao Jie, born in 1964, is president of Peking University Third Hospital and also chief physician and director at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. As a doctor, she has been working in reproductive medicine for 30 years.
Professor Qiao Jie is mainly engaged in the field of female reproductive endocrinology. She has conducted in-depth studies in mechanism of female fertility decline and its control strategies, follicle mechanism, freezing of follicles, oocytes and ovarian tissues and reproductive resource conservation. She is on the editorial board of a number of Chinese medical journals. She has published 156 research articles in SCI as the first author or correspondent. What’s more, she has been awarded a number of national level prizes and also enjoys the State Council Special Allowance.
