Mar 27, 2018
Peking University, Mar. 23, 2018: During 2017, Peking University Health Science Center’s publication on top recognized clinical research journals (Lancet, LAMA, NEJM, BMJ) crowned domestic universities with 26 articles. Its 17 first-author/corresponding articles made up 25% of the national published articles and ranked first among domestic universities.

In 1913, Professor Wullien-Teh, the founder of Peking University People’s Hospital, published an article in Lancet and became the first Chinese scholar who published article in world-class medical journals. Now, after more than 100 years, Peking University implements the national construction plan of world-class universities and first-class disciplines, follows the PKU Health Science Center’s developmental concept, broadens the range of scientific research, and achieves progress with its “clinical medicine +X” mode. On Dec. 9, 2017, Professor Zhan Qimin, vice President of Peking University and president of PKU Health Science Center, introduced the “clinical medicine +X” mode and the PKU Health Science Center’s developmental concept in Lancet.

Over the past year, medical research in Peking University achieved a series of breakthroughs in innovation and scientific research. On Jan. 18, 2017, Professor Li Liming from PKU School of Public Health published the research update of chronical disease in China in JAMA, providing strong evidence of evaluating diabetes mortality. On Oct.14, Professor Jiang Baoguo from Peking University People’s Hospital released in Lancet the closed-loop treatment in regional network of trauma, the achievement reduces the therapeutic time by 50% and the trauma mortality by 40%. On Dec 12, Professor Qiaojie from Peking University Third Hospital published the result of his randomized, controlled clinical trial in JAMA and thus sheds light on the treatment of PTOAb-positive infertility.
