Peking University, May 16, 2018: On the afternoon, May 11, the teaching training course for youth teachers in Peking University was held at Room 403, Dianjiao Building. Professor Li Xiaoming and Associate Professor Chen Jiang of the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, as the guest speakers of this session, shared methods and essentials of producing multimedia courseware with 18 youth teachers from various departments.
This course aimed to help youth teachers develop their ability to produce multimedia courseware. Li Xiaoming had a wealth of teaching experience and expertise in making PPT. In this training, he shared ten common methods for using animations, such as drawing lines, developing content, moving objects and etc. Chen Jiang's lecture focused closely on the “principles and techniques of making PPT”. He made a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the common problems in making PPT, and gave suggestions on improving PPT production, with concrete guidance on using PowerPoint.

As the last session of teaching training of this semester, the lectures by the two teachers had different emphases: one on the overall production guidance, the other on practical skills. Both received high remarks from youth teachers. The follow-up training will help youth teachers develop practical ability through classroom teaching observation, microteaching lesson preparation, teaching test and other activities. In addition, salons for teachers will be held as a platform for mutual communication and learning.
