Chinese version of Knowledge Translation in Health Care launched

Peking University, June 14, 2018: On May 24, the Chinese version of Knowledge Translation in Health Care, translated in collaboration by the nursing team from Peking University First Hospital (PKUFH) and Griffith University (GU) from Australia, was launched officially. Both the nursing specialists from China and Australia and the editors attended the launching event. The book was published by the People’s Medical Publishing House, and it was one of the important achievements by PKUFH in the field of knowledge translation and a good beginning of the cooperation in the field of knowledge translation between China and Australia.


Along with the launching ceremony, the Nursing Division of PKUFH held lectures by Australian nursing experts. Professor Frances Lin made a report titled “The Sensitive Index and Quality Control of Nursing”. Professor Frances Lin is the visiting professor at PKUFH, program director of postgraduate curriculum of acute care at GU, advisor at the education committee and quality control committee of Australia Acute Care Association. He described in detail the structure of quality and security management in Australia, exemplified the common sensitive index of nursing and its application in ICU, and presented his latest research in central vein knowledge translation. Afterwards, Professor Andrea Marshall gave a report titled “The Knowledge Translation of Nutrition Management, Its Application and Household Involvement”. Professor Andrea Marshall is an expert in emergency and acute care nursing at GU and Editor in Chief of Australian Critical Care. She introduced her latest research programs and findings including several papers.

At present PKUFH has three knowledge translation projects undergoing. In the future, the Nursing Division will enhance international cooperation to introduce new methods and new theories to our country via translating books and holding academic conferences, so as to promote the development of nursing and better serve the national strategy of Health China.
