Lin Jianhua, president of Peking University, said that Peking University aimed to become a world-class university and that health science was the most promising subject for its future development. He hoped that the hospital would integrate clinical medicine, academic research and education more closely to promote the overall development of health science in Peking University.

Peking University Third Hospital gave Han Qide, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, "Special Contribution Award for Hospital Development". "Outstanding Contribution Award for Hospital Management" was presented to Wang Jishan, Yang Lianqi, Chen Mingzhe, Jia Tingzhen, Jia Jianwen, Chen Zhongqiang and He Bei.

With the theme of “Innovation Lights the Future”, the following main forum was divided into three parts, focusing respectively on medical humanities, personnel training, and innovation. The main forum ended on the morning of October 9th.
11 sub-forums, with cutting edge topics of health industry, were held from October 9th to 10th. Experts and scholars discussed issues in various fields including challenges in China's clinical medical education, opportunities for strategic transformation of Chinese research hospitals, the improvement of clinical research capabilities.
