Liu Xuanzhe receives 2018 CCF-IEEE CS Young Computer Scientist Award

Peking University, Nov. 2, 2018: On October 26, China Computer Federation (CFF) awarding ceremony was held as a part of China National Computer Congress 2018 (CNCC2018) at Hangzhou, Zhejiang. More than 500 guests, including CFF directors, supervisors, representatives of international academic organizations, sponsors and media, participated in the ceremony.

Liu Xuanzhe, associate professor of the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) and the Key Lab of High Confidence Software Technologies, shared 2018 CCF-IEEE CS Young Computer Scientist Award with two other young scientists for his “outstanding contribution to service-based software engineering method and system”.


CCF Young Computer Scientist Award was established by CFF in 2010, aiming to honor scholars under 40 who have achieved breakthroughs in scientific research. Since 2016, the award has been jointly held with IEEE Computer Society and renamed as CCF-IEEE CS Young Computer Scientist Award. Every year, less than three winners will be selected from the nominees.

Liu received his doctoral degree at Peking University in 2009. He joined the Institute of Software, PKU in 2011. His research interest mainly lies in measuring, engineering, and operating service-based networked software systems. Liu is also a three-time international conference Best Paper Award winner. So far, Liu has published more than 70 papers in top journals and conferences concerning software engineering and system, including two IEEE spotlight papers. He was awarded Young Scientist of Changjiang Scholar Program. His research is adopted by IBM, Kingdee, SnapPea, Kika Tech, etc. in the field of e-government, mobile web and big data, serving millions of users in over 70 countries and regions. What’s more, all his Ph.D. students have published first author paper in top journals and conferences. Three of them have entered the Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship Program or IBM Ph.D. Fellowship.
