First Beijing Postdoctoral Lecture held

Peking University Nov. 30, 2018: On November 24, 2018, the first Beijing Postdoctoral Lecture was held in Peking University. Present were officials from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, executives of the National Postdoctoral Management Committee, and representatives of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, as well as more than 230 postdoctoral researchers from various institutions in Beijing. Ye Jingyi, vice chair of Peking University Council presided over the event.

The lecture was hosted by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and Peking University, and was jointly held by the Beijing Postdoctoral Association and the Peking University Guanghua School of Management. Professor Gao Yiqin, dean of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University, and Professor Sun Qingwei, dean of the School of Archaeology and Culture, delivered the lecture. In addition to a presentation of the latest academic achievements, the two professors also shared their research and life experiences with the audience, and encouraged the post-doctors to carry on their good work. After the lecture, the two professors had an in-depth communication with the postdoctoral fellows, in which they discussed the difficulties that the post-doctors may encounter as researchers. The lecturers’ dedication to the academic cause impressed the audience.

The Beijing Postdoctoral Lecture is an academic platform initiated by the Beijing Postdoctoral Association for the development of postdoctoral community in Beijing. It aims at inspiring more intimate and productive collaboration and cultivating solidarity in the academia.
