Peking University, Jan. 15, 2019: On the morning of December 28, the "Academician Forum" of the Centennial Birthday Academic Week of Peking University People's Hospital was held at Lu Daopei Lecture Hall of the hospital. Medical academicians from different fields gave keynote speeches on frontier topics, latest ideas, and innovative technologies respectively, bringing a magnificent medical event to medical workers.
This forum is an academic feast of the Centennial Birthday Academic Week of Peking University People's Hospital. Highly respected Academician Lu Daopie was invited as the chairperson of the forum. Zhan Qimin, president of Peking University Health Science Center, Xie Lixin from Shandong Institute of Ophthalmology, Hao Xishan from Tianjin Institute of Oncology, Chen Zhinan from the Fourth Military Medical University, and Ning Guang from Shanghai Ruijin Hospital delivered excellent speeches. This academic feast attracted more than 300 participants, including hospital department directors, research backbones, young and middle-aged doctors, researchers, nurses and medical students.
Lectures at the forum included "Innovation and Discipline Development" by Xie Lixin, "Prevention and Treatment of Breast Cancer" by Hao Xishan, "The Era of Cancer Immunotherapy 2.0" by Chen Zhinan, "Science and Technology Innovation Supports Connotative Development of Hospitals" by Zhan Qimin, "Personal Views on Discipline Development" by Ning Guang .
Jiang Baoguo, president of Peking University People's Hospital, concluded the meeting by pointing out that the excellent speeches made by these five academicians covered various aspects of basic medicine, clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, western medicine, traditional Chinese drugs and western drugs, bringing everyone the frontier research in related fields. He hoped that while listening to the lectures and gaining cutting-edge knowledge, everyone will have a deep understanding of the academicians' scientific thinking, scientific spirit, academic setup, and their persistent pursuit of scientific research, and turn them into the internal action force of daily work so as to help with the new development of the hospital in the next century.
