Peking University holds 2018 Year-end Meeting on International Exchanges

Peking University, Feb. 14, 2019: On January 17, the 2018 Year-end Meeting of Peking University's International Exchanges was held at the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of PKU Health Science Center. PKU Executive Vice President Zhan Qimin, Vice President Tian Gang, and nearly 100 faculty members attended the meeting.
The meeting started with a video clip named “Meeting the World at Peking University – A Glimpse of PKU’s International Exchanges in 2018”.

In the opening speech, Zhan illustrated that Peking University connects with the world through international exchanges, and the world understands China’s scientific research and education through Peking University. PKU would continue to promote foreign exchanges and cooperation in accordance with the “double first-class” construction layout and PKU’s overall planning. Then, Tian Gang pointed out that the achievements in international cooperation last year should be ascribed to the hard work of PKU’s various departments. Tian hoped that all departments can continue to actively engage in PKU foreign exchange affairs and make more contributions to PKU’s “double first-class” construction.

Later on, Xia Hongwei, director of Office of International Relations at PKU’s main campus, and Sun Qiulan, director of Office of International Relations at PKU’s Health Science Center, made keynote speeches respectively. They reviewed PKU’s international exchanges in 2018 and looked forward to the work of the coming new year. They all mentioned that both sides have worked closely with each other in terms of PKU international cooperation and foreign affairs for a long time, and there would be closer collaboration and exchanges between the two sides in the future.
In addition, the materials of the meeting, for example “Let ‘Number’ tell the story of Peking University’s international exchanges”, visually demonstrated the past, the development and the new face of PKU international exchanges work in a quantitative way.
