Peking University, Beijing, Mar. 24, 2009: Peking University’s application for the 2009 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has concluded; PKU submitted 13% more requests compared to last year’s applications, totaling at 1388 proposals. The NSFC funds have always been an important financial source for PKU’s science, technology and medical research projects. Around half of our current projects are funded by the NSFC, adding up to more than 20% of PKU’s total annual research funds. In 2008, PKU received a total amount of over two hundred million Yuan for nearly 400 approved projects from the NSFC.
