Eight Ph.D. students from Peking University will attend the German Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

Peking University, Mar. 12, 2019: The 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting is scheduled to be held from June 30th to July 5th, 2019 in Lindau, Germany.

Eight students from PKU’s School of Physics, including Ao Yutian, Chi Pin, Hu Zhaoyi, Liang Hao, Luo Yang, Ma Yang, Yang Zhenqian and Zhang Lin, stood out from many excellent PhD students across China after multiple rounds of selection including letter evaluation of Sino-German experts, interview, confirmation of conference committee, etc. These students will go to Lindau to attend the conference in June and visit German universities and research institutes. Among all the 25 selected Chinese students, eight PKU students received invitations, outnumbering students from other Chinese universities.

Since the first Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in 1951, the committee has been inviting Nobel laureates in the fields of chemistry, biology and physics, together with early career scientists and Ph.D. students from over 20 countries around the world to discuss disciplinary topics and the future development of science. Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting is one of the most world-famous and attractive academic events held for more than 60 times. In recent decades, with the recommendation of the Graduate School and related departments, more than 30 outstanding Ph.D. students of Peking University have been selected to participate in this important academic activity in Germany, showcasing the strength of PKU’s Ph.D. students on the international academic arena.
