Hao Ping visits volunteers at the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition

Peking University, May 15, 2019: Peking University President Hao Ping on May 10 visited the volunteers at the ongoing International Horticultural Exhibition held in Beijing. Vice Mayor of Beijing Wang Hong and other local officials were also present.

From May 5 to May 12, 130 student volunteers from Peking University served at the Expo and impressed every visitor with their patience, dedication and enthusiasm. They conveyed warmth, provided help as well as demonstrated the demeanor of Peking University students.

Hao Ping expressed his gratitude to all the volunteers for their great efforts and hard work. The volunteers of the Botany Pavilion said that they had to walk about three kilometers to their post, so they had to get up at 5 am and return after dark every day. Hao Ping encouraged PKU volunteers to cherish this precious experience and improve themselves while helping others during the volunteer services.

President Hao Ping also spoke highly of the PKU volunteers in the Chinese Horticultural Exhibition Area and the Chinese Pavilion. He prepared for every student pastries with patterns of Weiming Lake and Boya Tower. In return, the volunteers gave him a passport of the Expo, with all the 80 seals being collected through the joint efforts of volunteers in different exhibition areas.
