Dec 09, 2019
Peking University, Dec. 2, 2019: On November 29, Peking University Council Chair Qiu Shuiping visited Shenzhen. The city, in south China's Guangdong province, is also known as the birthplace of China's reform and opening-up policy and a breeding ground for innovation in the past four decades. Qiu met with Shenzhen Party Chief Wang Weizhong in a bid to seek a deeper cooperation in building Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen).

The cooperation is expected to accelerate the process of developing PKU into a first-class university in the world and building its first-class disciplines (the “Double First-Class” University Plan), and help transform Shenzhen into a pilot area demonstrating “socialism with Chinese characteristics” by 2035.

During his stay in Shenzhen, Qiu Shuiping also visited PKU Shenzhen and the university town in Nanshan District.
