A letter of greeting to all international students of Peking University
Mar 28, 2020
Peking University, March 28, 2020: Facing the Covid-19 pandemic, the International Students Division of Office of International Relations issued a letter of greeting to all international students of Peking University, appealing them to carry on learning and overcome difficulties.

Dear students,

It has been more than a month since Peking University started its online courses, so we trust that by now you've become accustomed to it. Thank you again for complying with the regulations of the school and making your own contribution to effective prevention and control of the epidemic.

On March 26, 2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the National Immigration Administration announced that there would be a temporary suspension of entry by foreign nationals holding valid Chinese visas or residence permits. Accordingly, please stay where you are as long as this temporary policy remains effective. We will be monitoring this situation and will keep you updated of any changes as soon as we can.

At present, Peking University still has not been informed when we will be allowed to invite students to return to school. For your safety and health, we hope that you will continue to carry on your study at home, while we continue to provide support for online teaching in the background. Meanwhile, rest assured that we are actively working on related affairs for those of you who are planning to graduate. Therefore, don’t worry about that, and just go on writing your thesis papers, go job hunting, and stay in close touch with your department and college in order to keep yourself fully informed of any changes in the graduation arrangements. The Covid-19 epidemic is now spreading rapidly around the world. During the time that it is still uncontrolled, if any of your classmates or family members feel unwell, please assume an optimistic attitude, follow the doctor's advice and take corresponding protective measures.

Dear students, let's have faith that the epidemic will eventually be behind us, and that our campus will return to normal once again. Together we will pass through these difficult times. Please keep up with your online study, and, for maintaining your health, take protective measures, for example, washing your hands often, and trying to avoid gatherings. We in Yan Yuan await your return!
