“Prior to the Lunar New Year, I have booked a train ticket to return to school after the holiday, but what I did not expect was that I would not be able to return to school in the next five months due to the COVID-19 outbreak,” said Wu, a student majoring in financial law at Peking University.

Under the guidance of staff from Wuhan Railway Station, students entered the station orderly and waited patiently to board the train after completing temperature checks and identity verification. At 13:30, they boarded the G516 high-speed train. All the students on the train are graduating students of Class of 2020. They are the first batch of students from Hubei province to return to Beijing.

In order to do a good job in organizing the return, Wuhan Railway Station assigned staff members to do a series of preparation work in advance, such as checking the number of passengers and keeping in close contact with teachers. At the same time, they also cooperated with local authorities to ensure that temperature measurement, identity verification, and other anti-epidemic measures were enforced.
