Prof. Wu Xun Wins Asian and Oceanian Outstanding Achievement Epilepsy Award

Peking University, Nov. 26, 2010: Prof. Wu Xun from PKU No. 1 Hospital won the Asian and Oceanian Outstanding Achievement Epilepsy Award at the Eighth Asian & Oceanian Epilepsy Congress (AOEC) from Oct. 21 to 24.

 

Li Shichuo, president of the China Association against Epilepsy (CAAE), addresses congratulations to Prof. Wu, “You are deserved for the award. It’s not only an honor for your own, but for the whole association and for the anti-epilepsy workers around the country.”

 

Lee Byung-in, president of the Commission on Asian and Oceanian Affairs (CAOA) of the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE), said in his congratulation letter, “CAOA appreciates and respects your contribution in for China and for the entire region.”

 

John W. Dunne, secretary of CAOA, said that “it is our highest honor to confirm and praise the leading scholar who has made special contributions to research on epilepsy in this region.”

 

Prof. Wu spent more than 10 years working on improvement for epilepsy research and clinical electroencephalography in China, and his achievements have reached international level. He is a leading authority in the field of research on epilepsy.

Graduated from Beijing Medical College in 1956, Wu Xun is a senior professor of neurology and supervisor of graduate students. He is an expert in epilepsy and other related paroxysmal nervous system diseases. His research also focuses on electroencephalogram (EEG), evoked potentials, and single-photon CT span of epilepsy, and has developed multi-functional EEG analysis ruler.
