University of Notre Dame Vice President Michael Pippenger visits Peking University

Peking University, February 2, 2024: Michael Pippenger, vice president and associate provost of the University of Notre Dame, visited Peking University (PKU) on Jan. 30, 2024. He received a warm welcome from Ning Qi, vice council chair and vice president of PKU, at Linhuxuan.

During the meeting with Pippenger, Ning Qi highlighted the close cooperation between PKU and the University of Notre Dame in philosophy and management, as well as the ongoing exchanges facilitated through the Peking University Center in Chicago.

In her speech, Ning expressed her hope for both universities to build upon the existing robust cooperation foundation, fostering increased academic and personnel exchanges to further enhance the quality development of academic disciplines in both institutions.

Pippenger extended his gratitude for PKU's hospitality and concurred on the importance of promoting high-quality academic disciplines. He provided an overview of the University of Notre Dame's latest strategic plan and its initiatives in global exchange and scientific research. Pippenger conveyed his anticipation for deeper collaboration with PKU.

The meeting was also attended by Zhaoying Hu, assistant director at the University of Notre Dame's Beijing Global Gateway, and Cui Ji, deputy director of the PKU Office of International Relations.
