Peking University, Nov. 3, 2010: On the morning of Oct. 26, Francis Verillaud, Vice President of Science Po Paris, visited Peking University. Since the number of Chinese students studying in Science Po is still low, there are still potential in developing the exchange collaboration between the two sides. Prof. Verillaud also mentioned that Science Po would hold more English language programs in order to attract more international students to study in France.

Prof. Li mentioned that with the European projects getting more and more popular among Chinese students, the prospect of Sino-France exchange programs was very broad, which was crucial to the internationalization of Peking University. When talking about the language problems in Sino-France exchange programs, Prof. Li said that while the university recommended Science Po to develop the English programs, it also encouraged Chinese students to learn French well. "Language is the basis to understand a culture and only by learning French well can students get close to French culture, thus gain a better knowledge of it."

After the discussion, Prof. Verillaud elaborated Science Po’s concepts in cultivating students. He emphasized that Science Po laid importance on stimulating and guiding students’ creative ideas.
