The previous two visits by Librarian Kenney in July 2009 and June 2010 paved the way for the cooperation.

A PKU delegation's visit to the US this summer was the main topic of the discussion, and the two sides exchanged views on the details. The visit will focus on issues like characteristic collections, disciplinary services, and digital resources at Cornell University Library.

Professor Zhu Qiang, the university librarian at PKU, was invited to give a lecture at Cornell on the topic of the development of the featured collections at PKU Library. In order to promote the cooperation between the two libraries, Cornell University Library will send a clerk special on the special collections to pay a 10-day visit to PKU.

Anne Kenney also visited the Ancient Stack Room at PKU Library. Shen Naiwen, director of the Ancient Stack Department, introduced the fundamental situation to the guests, including the bookshelf design, the typography technology, and the ancient stack room administration. They also discussion the cooperation on the construction of digital library.
