Mr. Park In-kook, president of Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, visits Peking University

Peking University, May. 11, 2017: On May 5, Mr. Park In-kook, president of the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS), visited Peking University. Hao Ping, chairman of Peking University Council, met with the guests in Linhuxuan. Wu Zhipan, executive vice president of PKU, director of the Asia-Pacific Research Institute, and Li Yansong, vice president of PKU, along with Yan Jun, Beijing Forum Secretary-General and Chang Guxue, Beijing Forum Deputy Secretary-General, were also present.

 
 
Hao Ping expressed his warm welcome to Park In-kook and his delegation. He appreciated the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) for its support to Peking University and China's education. Hao Ping also praised the Beijing Forum and Asia-Pacific Research Institute, which are key cooperation projects by PKU and KFAS. Hao Ping recalled the just-concluded PKU 119th anniversary celebration activities, and briefed the guests on arrangements for the 120th anniversary. He proposed cooperation between the 15th anniversary of Beijing Forum and 120th anniversary of PKU, and hoped for every opportunity to cooperate, find and create good projects for the Beijing Forum.

Park In-kook praised the academic achievements and social influence of the Beijing Forum and Asia-Pacific Research Institute. He also expressed his high recognition and support for expanding the brand influence of Beijing Forum and creating the Beijing Forum overseas sub-forum. Park In-kook introduced KFAC's recent academic support plan, and hoped to promote South Korea and China's cultural and academic exchanges through the cooperation and exchanges between KFAC and PKU. 
 
Background Information:
Beijing Forum is an international academic conference jointly sponsored by Peking University, Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS), under the guidance and support of the Beijing Municipal Government with the approval from the Ministry of Education. Since its founding in 2004, the Beijing Forum has been held for 13 consecutive years. The 14th Beijing Forum will be held in Beijing on November 3-5, 2017. The theme of the forum will be “The Harmony of Civilizations and Prosperity for All – Value and Order in the Changes". The forum will include eight sub-forums and a student forum. The themes are as follows:
