Peking University June 20, 2017: On June 7, Peking University Vice President Wang Jie led a delegation of Peking University including Director Jiang Langlang of Publicity Department, Professor Wang Xinyi of the Department of Russian Language and Literature and Pang Yaran from the Office of International Relations to Lemonosov Moscow State University (MSU).
Following PKU Council Chairman Hao Ping’s visit in May, the Delegation met with MSU Rector Victor Antonovich Sadovnichy and Vice Rector Yuri A.Mazei.
Wang Jie firstly delivered a salute and a letter from Chairman Hao Ping to Retor Victor. Two sides discussed the preparation for the association of Sino-Russian comprehensive universities. Wang emphasized the great significance of making the forum ready through two sides’ good communication.
MSU expressed that the cooperation forum in September as a part of the mechanism for Sino-Russian cultural communication would be attended by the Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko, and receive congratulatory messages from President Vladimir Putin.

Wang also attended the expert meetings Project on Moscow International Universities Rankings from June 8 - 11.
The project, authorized by President Putin, was set up to build a high-quality and completely novel assessment system for global universities, aiming at critically appraising the potential of the universities in the BRICs and other countries in terms of the international education. The project ran on a voluntary basis and has received the expressions of support from well-known international universities in Russia, China, India, Brazil, South Africa, Iran, Turkey, Japan, Italy and so on. A panel of experts on international education shared their views on both pros and cons of the project. Wang pointed out the ranking would be important but the true value of a university really mattered.

Jiang Langlang also dropped by the faculty of Journalism and Department of Russian Language and Literatures, and discussed with the scholars of MSU.
