Deputy Minister of Education of Brazil visits Peking University

Peking University Nov. 25, 2018: On the afternoon of November 22nd, Henrique Sartori de Almeida Prado, deputy minister of education of Brazil, led a delegation of officials from Brazil's higher education system to visit Peking University. Qiu Shuiping, chairman of Peking University Council, met with the delegation at Linhuxuan. Wu Jiewei, deputy dean of School of Foreign Language, and Xia Hongwei, director of Office of International Relations were also present.

Qiu welcomed the delegation. He said that Brazil is a strategic partner of China, and that Peking University had developed cooperative relationships with many universities in Brazil. He hoped that this visit could further cement relationships between Peking University and universities in Brazil and facilitate mutual cooperation.

Sartori said that it was his honor to visit Peking University, the best university in China. He was commissioned by Minister of Education of Brazil to visit China, hoping to further promote communication and cooperation between universities in China and their counterparts in Brazil and invite teachers and students in Peking University to visit Brazil.

Then, the delegation came to New Building of School of Foreign Languages and met with the teachers and students of Portuguese major. Sartori welcomed Peking University’s students to study in Brazil.
