Peking University, December 27, 2018: On the morning of December 17, Belarusian Ambassador to China Rudy Kiryl visited Peking University, accompanied by Vergeichik Sergei, counsellor of the Embassy of Belarus in China, and Aleksandr Podkovyrov, the first secretary. Peking University President Hao Ping, Dean of PKU School of Foreign Languages Ning Qi, Director of the Office of International Relations Xia Hongwei and others received the Belarusian delegation.

PKU President Hao Ping welcomed the delegation. He firstly reviewed previous communication between PKU and Belarus. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko visited PKU in September 2016 and delivered a lecture here, enabling more PKU teachers and students to grasp a better understanding of Belarus. Kiryl pointed out that as the relations between Belarus and China make steady progress, the Belarusian government will hold a Belarus-China Education Year in 2019, promoting bilateral educational exchanges. The Belarusian delegation and PKU school leaders have agreed to jointly carry out researches on Belarusian language, culture and sciences. Besides, the collaboration mechanisms between the two sides will also be diversified through various means including more exchanges between scholars and students.
After the meeting, kiryl went to the New Building of School of Foreign Languages to deliver a speech titled “Belarus and China: Work Together for a Shared Future,” and interacted with PKU students majoring in Russian.
About Rudy Kiryl
Rudy Kiryl is Ambassador of Belarus to China. Prior to that, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Belarus State Economic University. Kiryl has extensive work experiences, ranging from vice-dean of the Faculty of Finance at the Belarusian State Economic University to deputy general manager of Huawei Technologies’ branch at Belarus.
