Peking University receives the largest number of foreign leaders in 2018
Feb 21, 2019
Peking University, Feb. 21, 2019: Chinese University Alumni Association (CUAA), an affiliate of China-based consultancy iResearch, recently released the ranking of Chinese universities regarding the number of foreign leaders who visited these higher institutions in 2018.

With a total of 67 visits, Peking University topped the ranking, far surpassing many other schools. “The frequent visits by leaders from across the world indicate the global influence and worldwide reputation of a higher institution. Having international leaders coming from afar is also a remarkable recognition of the efforts that a university has made in promoting international exchanges and cementing the relationship with the world,” said Cai Li, a leading expert at CUAA.

International leaders visiting Peking University

In 2018, Peking University played host to a considerable number of international leaders, including but not limited to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, president of Royal Academy of Cambodia Sok Touch, and Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon. As Peking University is making all-out efforts to implement the “Double First-Class Initiative”, the constant arrival of international distinguished guests, along with their care and support, proved PKU’s promising prospect of becoming a world–class university with a batch of first-class disciplines.
