Peking University, April 3, 2019: The student delegation of PKU Department of Sociology paid a five-day visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) for a student exchange program during the winter holiday. This program was organized by the student union of Department of Sociology to encourage students to pay more attention to society, to broaden their horizons, and to strengthen the relations between them and other organizations.

In the following days, the students visited the former residence of Mangyongdae, the Grand People's Study House DPRK, Monument to Party Founding, and other places of interest and listened to the relevant introductions. On January 25, the students went to Kaesong to visit Panmunjom and learn the history of the communication and conflict between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea at the border.

In order to commemorate the history, the students paid tribute to the Chinese soldiers who died in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in front of the China-DPRK Friendship Tower and the Kaesong Cemetery of Martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers Army. The victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea preserved the independence of the DPRK and the peace of China as well as the whole world. The students paid their sincere respect to the martyrs.

On January 24, the student delegation visited Kim Il-sung University and discussed the status quo of higher education in North Korea. After the visit, the students took photos with the guiding teachers in front of the university. The teachers of Kim Il-sung University highly praised the students of PKU Department of Sociology and encouraged them to study hard and to make their own contribution to China.
