Peking University, May 13, 2019: A delegation from Osaka University of Economics and Law visited Peking University on May 6. Hao Ping, president of Peking University, and Wang Bo, vice president of Peking University received the delegation at Linhuxuan, where both sides had an in-depth discussion of future academic cooperation between the two universities.
President Hao welcomed the delegation on behalf of Peking University. He emphasized the long history of the partnership between both universities and the great achievements of the collaboration. He also praised the prominent works of the distinguished universities in Japan. He expected deeper cooperation with Osaka University of Economics and Law.
Council member of Osaka University of Economics and Law drew upon previous cooperation to express the willingness of advancing bilateral collaboration in the future.
Faculty representatives from PKU School of Foreign Languages, School of International Studies, Department of Philosophy, and the Office of International Relations have also participated in the meeting.
Osaka University of Economics and Law is a private university. It signed a sister school agreement with Peking University in 1986, thus becoming one of the earliest universities in Japan to collaborate with PKU. Experts in Asian studies and philosophy from both universities have close ties and together they achieved much in the academia.
