Delegates from Singaporean Public Service Commission visit Peking University

Peking University, May 20, 2019: Delegates from Singaporean Public Service Commission visited Peking University on May 13, together with principals from well-known high schools in Singapore. Vice President of Public Service Commission Tan Yam Pin and Commission Member Alan Chan were among the delegates. Peking University Council Chair Qiu Shuiping met the delegates in Linhuxuan.

Qiu Shuiping expressed his warm welcome to the delegation, saying that China-Singapore bilateral relations have been developing for a long time, and that deepening education cooperation is significant for mutual understanding and common interest. Peking University will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Singapore to achieve more in academic research, talent cultivation and personnel exchanges.

Alan Chan said that Singaporean government encourages and supports students to study in China. Against this backdrop, the Public Service Commission visited PKU and tried to further understand its overall situation and development strategy, in the hope of promoting educational cooperation with Peking University.

Ahead of the meeting, the delegation had a discussion with relevant schools and departments of PKU, where they had in-depth exchanges on topics such as teaching reform, discipline construction and talent cultivation.
