Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences at UNESCO visits Peking University

Peking University, May 19, 2019: On the morning of May 17, Nada Al-Nashif, Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences at UNESCO, and other delegates visited Peking University. PKU President Hao Pingand and vice president Wang Bo met with guests at Linhuxuan.

Hao Ping welcomed Nada's visit. He said that Peking University hoped to expand cooperation with UNESCO in social and humanities research, such as cooperation in African Studies, Belt and Road, Silk Road archaeology, and AI ethics, etc. At the same time, it is also hoped that more students from Peking University will participate in the practice of UNESCO.

Nada thanked his warm welcome and pointed out that she was willing to cooperate with Peking University in civilization communication, ethical research of artificial intelligence, Silk Road Archaeology, and African history research. Teachers and students were welcome to join practicums in international organizations to enhance communication and cooperation between the two sides.

Tang Shiqi, dean of the School of International Studies, Xia Hongwei, minister of the Office of International Relations, Zhang Jianwei, vice-dean of the School of Archaeology and Museology, Liu Zhe, deputy director of the Department of Philosophy, Liu Haifang, director of African Research Center, and other representatives attended this meeting.
