Director of IHEID Philippe Burrin visits Peking University

Peking University, May 28, 2019: Philippe Burrin, director of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, visited Peking University on May 21. Peking University President Hao Ping greeted the guests in Linhuxuan.

At the meeting

Hao Ping extended warm welcome to the guests. He acknowledged IHEID for its great reputation in the research field of international relations and international organizations. He pointed out that the long-term cooperation between PKU and IHEID will be further promoted through this visit, which will offer PKU students more opportunities to broaden international horizons.

Philippe Burrin expressed that IHEID attaches great importance to the integration of scientific research and international responsibilities. Geneva is the home of numerous international organizations. Students at IHEID can not only work in international organizations, but also truly understand their operation mechanisms and methods so as to carry out effective cooperation with international organizations alike. IHEID hopes that the two sides can develop more forms of cooperation and exchanges in the future.

At the meeting, PKU and IHEID had in-depth discussions on student exchanges, joint Ph.D. training, summer schools and high-level training programs. In the future, the two sides will work together in international talent cultivation.
