During the conference, SIHRD shared its experience on its work centered on talent introduction, international exchanges and think tank construction. Since its establishment in 2003, it has held various symposiums, meetings, worked on the training of foreign-affair cadres in universities, and carried out frequent discussions with foreign experts to seek their advice regarding the introduction of foreign talents in China and the internationalization of higher education institutions. Through hosting a variety of academic activities such as the Annual International Forum on Higher Education and a number of exchanges, SIHRD builds a communication platform for its member universities. What’s more, SIHRD also edited and published several books on topics including university internationalization and foreign talents, which brings together prospective studies from all over the world. It has also participated in CAHE’s observation reports and various projects involving the internationalization of higher education.

Certificate of Honor

The novel coronavirus outbreak has brought severe challenges to international exchanges. SIHRD has urged foreign experts from its member universities to move classes online and take part in coronavirus research since the very beginning of its outbreak. When the virus began spreading around the world, SIHRD suggested its members donating anti-epidemic supplies, holding video conferences and compiling multilingual versions of COVID-19 prevention and control handbook to share with others. In short, SIHRD will work with its members, to turn pressure into motivation, and to help build a strong country through better higher education.
