Biography: Dr Lee Ming Tai is Head of Portfolio Management Unit, People's Republic of China Resident Mission, Asian Development Bank (ADB) since December 2018. He is overseeing 61 projects portfolio (US$ 6 bilion in total) of PRC
operations. Dr.Tai has over 20 years of professional work experlence in the rural and social development sectors, and he has worked in eleven countries. As a mission leader, he processed ten international development projects (US$1.87 bilion in total) in South Asia countries. Dr.Tai is a recipient of multiple awards for his excellent performance both in the academic and non-academic fields including "Asian Public lntellectuals Japan", "The Outstanding Young Malaysian", "ADB's Superhuman Award",etc. He holds a Ph D.degree in development policy from Yamaguchi University in Japan, and awarded executive certificates in publlc policy, and public leadership by Harvard University in USA.
Prior to joining ADB, Dr Tai was working in Japan Bank for International Cooperation. Japan as an economic advisor. He was the founder cum CEO of few private companies and also served as the Board of Directors of two educational institutions in Malaysia. Also, Dr Tai ls a philanthropist and passionate about education.Over the last 20 years, he founded four education foundations and supported more than 2,000 poor children in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Malaysia to complete their primary education and vocational skills.
