Abstract:

In this talk, we discuss the non-Markovian random walk models involving directional persistence. We suggest several random walk models describing  Lévy walk dynamics in intracellular transport.  In particular, we introduce a persistent random walk model with finite velocity and self-reinforcing directionality, which explains how exponentially distributed runs self-organize into truncated Lévy walks observed in active intracellular transport.
