[Lecture] Photodamage in Nonlinear Microscopy via Free-Electron and Thermally Mediated Pathways
Jul. 02, 2024

Speaker: Prof. Dr. Alfred Vogel, Ph.D., Physics at the Institute of Biomedical Optics, University of Luebeck, Germany

Time: 13:00-14:30 p.m., July 2, 2024, GMT+8

Venue: Room B117, Integrated Science Research Center No.2

Abstract:

We have for several years investigated this topic in my group and came up with a map delineating 'safe' regions with regard to free-electron-mediated damage in (irradiance/radiant exposure) parameter space. We have also investigated thermal damage in dependence of nonlinear and linear target absorption, NA, pulse repetition rate and dwell time. I believe that our results may be of interest for you and your colleagues who advance the frontiers of nanoscopic imaging.
