Abstract:

The mammalian liver comprises heterogeneous cell types that shape the tissue microenvironment in homeostasis and disease. Using single-cell transcriptomic analysis tools, we dissected the cellular landscape of liver microenvironment and the mechanisms that govern its reprogramming in disease. Our work identified TREM2+ macrophages as a novel disease driver and revealed an adipose-liver hormonal checkpoint in metabolic liver disease and liver cancer.
