Speech Theme: "Protecting Green Development, Building a Better Home Together"

This year's contest is centered around the theme "Protecting Green DevelopmentBuilding a Better Home Together," aiming to explore new paths for sustainable development from the unique perspectives of youth. It encourages participants to present their deep reflections and innovative insights on environmental protection, ecological balance, and sustainable development in the current era, contributing youthful wisdom and energy to the global construction of ecological civilization. Speakers can draw from their personal experiences to discuss their understanding of the role of the younger generation in addressing global environmental challenges, participating in international environmental governance, and practicing green living. They are also encouraged to reflect on how the new generation of international youth can impact the sustainable development of the world’s future. Participants are recommended to choose one of the following keywords as the basis for their speech topic: “International Environmental Cooperation,” “Environmental Justice and Just Transition,” “Green Development and Youth Participation,” “Practicing Green Living,” and “Youth Power in Environmental Advocacy.” Based on the speech theme, contestants should create their own titles (with content related to China), ensuring positive intentions and clear logical structure.
Contest Arrangement
International students are required to complete the registration form before November 15, 2024 (Friday) through the following link:https://jsj.top/f/nBDhfn , including speech title and a brief summary of the speech content within 150 words.
Time of Contest: On November 27th, at 13:30 in the afternoon, at the B101 Lecture Hall of the School of Chinese as a Foreign Language.
Contest Requirements
1. Based on the theme, please create your own title that closely aligns with the theme, exhibits a positive intention, and maintains a clear logical structure. 2. The speech should be limited to 5 minutes. Deductions will be made for speeches that are less than 4 minutes and 45 seconds or exceed 5 minutes and 15 seconds. 3. To highlight the essence of "speech," rely solely on your oral communication skills and refrain from using any visual aids such as PowerPoint or other presentation tools. 4. The speech should be delivered without reading from a script.
Contest Award Categories
The competition will include the following award categories: First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, Most Popular Award (voted by students), and several Excellence Awards. The number of awards may be adjusted based on the actual number and level of participants. All participating students will receive a certificate of participation in the international student speech competition, which will be issued by the International Cooperation Department of Peking University.
