John B. Quinn is the executive chairman and founding partner of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, the largest law firm in the world devoted solely to business litigation and arbitration which The Wall Street Journal has termed a “global litigation powerhouse.”  Annual surveys of the top legal decision makers at over 300 of the world’s largest organizations, conducted by independent research provider BTI Consulting Group, have consistently ranked Quinn Emanuel as the world’s most feared litigation law firm.
According to a 2016 survey conducted by Bloomberg Law, John is the most famous lawyer in the world practicing at a large law firm.  John has amassed a trail of victories second to none in the field of business litigation.  His practice ranges across the full spectrum of business litigation cases. He is described as a “master strategist” by American Lawyer and a “Legal Legend” in the 10th Anniversary edition of the Lawdragon: The 500 Leading Lawyers in America.    
For 33 years, John served as General Counsel to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization that gives out the Oscars.
