Abstract: 

As part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of PKU Hall and the 127th anniversary of Peking University, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra — the second-oldest municipal ensemble in Germany, dating back to the 18th century — will perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 9 under the baton of conductor Adam Fischer. This performance will also be in commemoration of the165th anniversary of Gustav Mahler's birth.

Having been the principal conductor of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra since 2015, Adam Fischer has directed the recording of Gustav Mahler’s complete symphonic oeuvre. Two CDs from this cycle won awards in 2019: the recording of the First Symphony received the ‘BBC Music Award’ and the Third Symphony an ‘Opus Klassik’. In 2018, Adam was the laureate of the Wolf Prize in Arts.
