Abstract:
As part of the academic exchange initiatives hosted by the Institute of Foreign Philosophy and the Department of Philosophy at Peking University, this upcoming lecture series features four specialized sessions on the history and core themes of German Classical Philosophy.
The series brings together two scholars of German philosophy to explore fundamental concepts in continental thought. Nina Dmitrieva, the scientific director of the Academia Kantiana, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (IKBFU), will lead sessions on Neo-Kantianism's intersection with war and peace, alongside an exploration of the Snell Brothers. Jürgen Stolzenberg, emeritus professor at Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, will present on Fichte's personal meditations as well as classical frameworks on maxims, animals, human beings, and the concept of right.
Offering a comprehensive look at the key questions concerning rationality, aesthetics, and subjectivity, this series will provide a forum for the PKU philosophical community to engage with key questions in German classical philosophy.
