Abstract: The China National Symphony Orchestra's Forbidden City String Quartet will present "Forbidden Halls, String Harmonies," a chamber music concert featuring works by Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms.
Founded in 2010, the quartet is known for its expressive performances and harmonious style. It has collaborated with renowned musicians, including Hideko Kobayashi, Amy Oshiro, Paul Roczek, Wolfgang Redik and László Kuti.
In 2011, the quartet won a bronze prize in the string quartet category at the 8th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music. It later released an album featuring works by Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. From 2015 to 2016, the quartet gave more than 30 performances across 32 Chinese cities, including in prominent venues such as the Forbidden City Concert Hall, the Beijing Concert Hall, and the National Center for Performing Arts, bringing chamber music to a wider audience. The concert will offer students and faculty an opportunity to experience the beauty of classical chamber music on campus.
