Editor’s note: What marks the full bloom of spring on PKU campus? The answer might be multi-faceted: fresh buds spreading lavishly, Malus spectabilis flowering with the breeze, birds trilling tuneful melodies… But it is always unmistakable to look on the surface of the Weiming Lake for a few clues -- as a Chinese idiom goes, “The ducks know first when the water becomes warm in spring.”
