Peking University, February 25, 2025: Seasons shifting year after year, the vibrant landscapes of Peking University abound, while its timeless grandeur remains constant as always. “Peking University is all about novelty,” and if you look at Xu Yizhen’s photographs, at the heart of them is a serendipitous yet ever-present discovery of the placid stillness and subtle motions that unveil the all-encompassing spirit beyond the frame. 

Spring 

Spring opens its drowsy eyes to the thriving lives all about,
Anew in profusion, willow buds tenderly sprout.
Breeze whisks fragrance of peach petals through the lane,
Cherry blossoms glisten wet after a brief spell of rain.

Summer

Golden glows from the summer sun shimmer on subtle ripples,
Lotus leaves unfold gracefully covered by dew and drizzles.
A farewell chorus marks the start of new paths to be laid,
I dare say, the memories Yanyuan will never fade. 

Autumn

Though it gets chill, the vibrant hues stay still,
By Weiming lakeside, passion endures with strong will.
Fiery red of maple harmonizes delightfully with Ginkgo autumn gold,
Against solemn, painted walls, words of wisdom are told.

Winter

Winter wind dispersing not the faintest fervency at all,
Flurries adorn the pinnacle of Boya Pagoda, noble and tall.
Beneath the snowdrifts vigor is on the way,
Such unblemished purity, like none to fray.
