Peking University, October 26, 2021:
On the morning of the 20th of October, Wojciech Zajączkowski , the
Polish Ambassador to China, Maria Wejs-Domżalska, the first counsellor
of the Polish Embassy in China, and their delegation visited Peking
University. They were warmly received by Hao Ping, president of Peking
University, and Wang Bo, vice-president of Peking University.
Hao Ping welcomed Ambassador Wojciech Zajączkowsk, commending Poland on
its rich culture and history, as well as its outstanding contributions
to global science and art in the form of figures such as Nicolaus
Copernicus, Marie Curie and Frédéric Chopin. He stated that Peking
University has attached great importance to the study of Poland as well
as other Central and Eastern European regions and countries, and seeks
to continue maintaining exchanges and cooperation with various Polish
universities such as that of the University of Warsaw.
Ambassador Wojciech Zajączkowsk, on the other hand, praised Peking
University on its standing as a world-famous university, remarking that
the university has inherited China’s long history and rich culture. He
also stated that China’s profound cultural heritage has attracted many
Polish youths, leading to a large number of students going to China to
study each year. At the same time, he expressed that the cooperation
between Peking University and the University of Warsaw in fields such as
life science and engineering has also achieved remarkable results, with
both governments supporting the pursuit of many excellent scientific
research cooperation projects. Finally, he expressed his hopes that
Polish universities and research institutions can continue cooperating
closely with Peking University, as well as other top institutions, and
push higher education exchanges between China and Poland to the next
level.
