Peking University, December 5, 2023: Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who is on a working trip to China, visited Peking University (PKU) on the afternoon of Dec. 4, 2023. President Lukashenko was received by Hao Ping, council chair of Peking University, at Linhuxuan.

In his meeting with Hao Ping, Lukashenko expressed his hope for Belarusian-Chinese friendly cooperation, stressing that Belarus has been a good friend to China.

Noting that Peking University stood as a world-class university, Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus would work to reinforce cooperation and people-to-people exchanges with Peking University and China's higher education field.

Belarus stood ready to conduct across-the-board academic collaborations with China in disciplines and fields ranging from biology and physics to chemistry and mathematics, he said.

Hao underscored that the University would earnestly implement the consensus reached by Chinese and Belarusian leaders on educational cooperation. He emphasized that the cooperation program in biology between Peking University and Belarusian State University, aiming to cultivate talents in the field who are proficient in cross-cultural exchanges, represented a paradigm in the two nations' educational cooperation.

In addition, Peking University would strive to carry out exchanges in diverse forms with Belarusian higher education institutions to cement educational cooperation and foster mutual learning between China and Belarus, Hao added.

Shortly after the meeting, President Lukashenko and his delegation went to the National Stadium, about a 20-minute drive from Peking University, to spectate the training session of the Peking University ice hockey team and join an ice hockey friendly between the Belarus President's Hockey Team and the Peking University team.
