It was in the summer of 2008 that Beijing was all set to host its first Olympics. Beijing Welcomes You (《北京欢迎你》), a feature song for the 100-day countdown of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, had already been heard and sung on various occasions. Eight-year-old Luciana, having already learned the lyrics, excitedly sat in front of the TV at home ready to watch the opening ceremony. She remembers that she would start playing this song along with the ads that were cut in. Till date, this song gives her a sense of nostalgia. Childhood sentiments and memories account for her decisions to be a part of the next Olympic Games in Beijing.

“ I think it was my luck that I was in the right place at the right time.”She admits that there was a slight hesitation due to the current Covid-19 pandemic situation. While she says, “ I choose to believe in our school and the Olympic organizing committee. I believewe we will be well equipped and protected against COVID-19”

Rewarding Journey
