PKU researchers win 18th Chinese Young Women in Science Award

Peking University, April 29, 2023: The 18th Chinese Young Women in Science Award was recently held in Beijing. The award is aimed at rewarding outstanding women scientists for their important contributions to the progress of science and empowering more women scientists to achieve scientific excellence. Huang Qianqian and Liu Juan, researchers from Peking University, are among the awardees this year.
The award this year confers accolades to 20 researchers and five research teams, with ten researchers being shortlisted for the Future Female Scientist Program. Thus far, 15 researchers from Peking University have been awarded this honor. This is also the third time two researchers from the University are awarded in the same year.

First established in 2004, the Chinese Young Women in Science Award was founded in conjunction by the All-China Women's Federation, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, and L'Oréal China. To date, a total of 184 women in science have been awarded this honor. Among them, nine were selected to be academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, while three were awarded the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Award.
