Peking University, October 12, 2022: "What to eat and where to eat" is a prevalent question that crosses the minds of every student at Peking University, and undoubtedly, every PKUer has his or her own customized answer. Now, let’s embark on a journey across canteens and restaurants of Peking University to explore the fascinating cuisines provided on campus, and have a sneak peek of the unique flavors PKU has to offer.

• The first floor of the Jiayuan Canteen 
 


As the saying goes: "Eat well in the morning, full in the afternoon, and less in the evening." A delicious and well-balanced breakfast can wake up your taste buds and brighten up your mood throughout the day. Morning begins when yeast wakes up dough, and the freshly made pancakes and crisps dances on the pan to welcome a bright new day. There are always dishes with all kinds of snacks prepared to accompany the morning crowd. You can leisurely enjoy your first meal of the day, throw away your sleepiness, and restore your spirits with a dose of vitality.

• Chengfuyuan Canteen
 


 
Bright kitchens, glistening stoves and neatly arranged tableware and dishes, all of which comprises the elegant environment of Chengfuyuan Canteen. In the early morning, the canteen in Chengfuyuan is often busy, and yet orderly. Of course, their daily breakfast is inseparable from the perseverance and dedication of the catering logistics staff. The hectic hours prior to morning classes are made warm and bright because of the hardworking efforts dedicated by these lovely people.

At Peking University, you can also taste delicious cuisine from all over the world. Right here, you can order a dessert or snack in the afternoons, enjoy a leisurely time alone with ambient music, or simply hang out with friends on delicious food dates! Listen, the chef is ringing the bell again, and the dishes with dashing presentation and tasteful flavors are freshly prepared, just for you!

• Nongyuan Canteen
 

 


If you would like to know which the liveliest place on Yanyuan campus is during lunchtime, it has to be the Nongyuan Canteen. Once the school bell rings, an incoming crowd would start pouring in. To welcome each hungry mouths, all kinds of dishes are neatly arranged and waiting to be selected. The chefs cook carefully and bring together delicacies from all over the world so that PKUers from all over the world can have a taste of their hometown delicacies!

• Xinyuan Canteen
 

 


The stylish appearance, bright interior, extraordinary technological setups, and warm atmosphere make Xinyuan Canteen one of a kind. Xinyuan Canteen is also a new spot on the newly established Changping campus. Diverse dishes are just one of the countless aspects of the new campus that takes considerable care and attention to the students living there.

The fast food trucks scattered all over our campus make lunchtime rushes a thing of the past. The meal sets with meat and vegetables provided on the food trucks are affordable and tasty. After a busy day of studying and working, always make sure to eat well!

• 2nd-4th floors of Jiayuan Canteen
 
 
 



Dinner is the dividing time-point between sunset and night, and the Nongyuan Canteen’s set menu and local cuisine are the most suitable for this occasion. The combination of meat and vegetables combines great coloration with taste. The famous drumstick rice combos and the spicy hotpot “Malatang” can be found here, and so is your enjoy of savoring delicious food!

• Shaoyuan Chinese Restaurant

 


Shaoyuan Chinese Restaurant is a good place to treat yourself. Steaming dishes can warm your stomach and revitalize your body and mind at the end of the day.  

• Shaoyuan Canteen

 

The Shaoyuan Canteen comprises of a spacious and bright environment with rich and diverse foods. All of the delicious home-cooked dishes are simple and attentive. You can stop for a moment and feel a homey atmosphere here. This is a good spot for PKUers to relieve their stress after a busy day.

• Xuewu food stalls 




At night, nighttime food stalls would take over PKU. Spicy and salty aroma entangles in the air, with a tinge of sweetness lingering around the corner. Surrounded by the hustle and bustle of happy gatherings, nighttime food stalls also accommodate hungry people in the late hours of the day. The memories of the past are collided here with the quietness of nighttime, and the youthful conversations exchanged in those magical moments will never be forgotten.
