Mountaineering Association holds a meeting on Barkol expedition

Peking University, Nov. 15, 2012On November 9, Mountaineering Association of Peking University (MAPKU) held a report meeting on the Barkol expedition.

 

Vice administer of the student groups center Zhang Tianran gave the opening speech where he encouraged the members of MAPKU to participate in activities as the Barkol practice more often. Professor Qian Junwei, the instructor of MAPKU, expressed a similar hope for the student members. Ms. Li Lin from Chinese National Geography showed her admiration towards the energetic youth.

 

The video “Thirteen People’s Summer, A Different Story” led to the climax of the meeting. It recorded the whole journey of the expedition. The audiences were fascinated with the beautiful scenery and unique local customs.

 

Later, the leader of the practice explained the mission of the expedition, namely, an exploration of the site as well as the historical culture of Barkol. After that, he told the audience his own understanding of scientific research, pointing out that it offered the university students a new perspective to examine the world.

 

Team members shared their own findings, which was enlightening, and the meeting ended in the team song “The Dream Catcher”.
